Committee Member (Education) Mrs. Shirley Fu
Shirley graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1989. Her voice teachers included Mr. H. S. Chiang and Ms. Ella Kiang and she is now receiving voice lessons from Messrs. Y. C. Chou and Raymond Fu, and has passed the ABRSM Grade 8 voice and theory examinations with distinction.
Shirley has performed as soloist with the Chung Chi Choir of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols; St. John's Cathedral Choir in its 1996 CD production as well as Vivaldi's Gloria concert; the Radio Television Hong Kong's 1998 production of St. Matthew Passion by J. S. Bach; and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chorus Concerts in 1992. She has also appeared as Maria in Jesus Christ Super Star at the Tsuen Wan Arts Festival and in the Hong Kong Singers' 1992-94 G&S productions such as Celia in Iolanthe and Edith in Pirates of Penzance.
As a founding member of the Society, Shirley has actively participated in all activities and is currently the Committee Member for Edcuation at the Opera Society of Hong Kong. Contact Shirley.
